AIMS:

The course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006, as amended, and to develop the practical competence required to conduct inspections, audits, and certification of ships in compliance with international labour standards.
 It equips participants with the understanding needed to assess seafarers’ working and living conditions and to ensure compliance with flag-state and international requirements.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To understand the structure, scope, and application of MLC 2006
  • To interpret the Articles, Regulations, and Code (Part A & B)
  • To develop competence in conducting MLC inspections and audits
  • To assess seafarers’ working and living conditions onboard
  • To verify compliance with certification requirements (MLC Certificate & DMLC)
  • To identify deficiencies and non-conformities
  • To enhance inspection, interviewing, and reporting skills
